Being Bold Changes Minds & Policies

We are celebrating the Fourth of July early! Yesterday, the State of Connecticut took a bold and important step in supporting the special needs for all children with extraordinary gifts and talents when Governor Malloy signed into law An Act Concerning Services for Gifted and Talented Students.

NAGC believes in the power of policy to create supportive environments for learning. With persistence, dedication, and a solutions strategy, the Connecticut Association for the Gifted led the efforts to change policy to increase support for gifted education.

I invite advocates in all states to collaborate with NAGC and leverage our team to advance Policy Solutions that promote programs and services in which gifted and talented children thrive. In July, we will release detailed policy advocacy briefs and model legislation to adopt for your own state. NAGC will partner with leaders in states to encourage creation of the programs and services that support all gifted children.

Together we can make a difference and achieve our collective goal of supporting all gifted and talented children as they reach to achieve their personal best.

Thank you for being an advocate. I wish you and your family a Happy Fourth of July!

Warm regards,

M. René Islas
