Articles For THP Should

• Have a clear purpose, discuss topics pertinent to practitioners in the field, and be written in a straightforward style;
• Be grounded in sound theory and best practices, and where possible, make a connection to the NAGC Pre-K-Grade 12 Gifted Programming Standards; and
•  Suggest resources (in print and electronic) for exploring a topic in more depth.

Please keep in mind that the purpose of THP is to provide a practical tool for educators striving to meet the needs of gifted students in schools and classrooms. Unlike a scholarly journal, we do not publish theoretical analyses, reviews of research, research reports, or other technical articles written in a more formal, academic style. Preparing Your Submission

Teaching for High Potential is a peer-reviewed publication. The editor refers qualified manuscripts to reviewers who have expertise in the subject/topic addressed in the manuscript. Reviewers' comments and any suggestions for revisions are then provided to the author with a deadline for re-submission.

To avoid delay, authors should follow these instructions:

• Manuscripts should be between 800 and 2000 words.
• Write concisely and in the active voice.
• Use one-inch margins on all sides. Please use a font such as Times, Times New Roman, or Arial rather than an unusual or decorative font as they may delay the processing of your material.
• References should follow the APA style as outlined in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (7th edition).
• Manuscripts should represent only original work that has not been published previously or is not being considered for publication elsewhere.

Submitting Your Article

All prospective authors should submit their material electronically to the editor-in-chief. Include a cover message with your name, affiliation (i.e., school, university, etc.), address, and daytime phone number. Include the manuscript as an attachment to the email message, in a current version of Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, or other word-processing software. If you are unable to submit your manuscript electronically for any reason, please contact the editorial office for further instructions.

THP conducts an extensive review of each article, with the goal of ensuring that every piece we publish will be as strong as possible! Therefore, please expect to be asked for revisions before final acceptance and publication. In addition to being reviewed by the editor-in-chief, articles submitted to THP are reviewed by at least two members of our editorial review board. The review process can require six to eight weeks; the final acceptance and subsequent publication will depend on the time needed to complete required revisions.

NAGC retains the copyright for all articles accepted for publication. Authors are free to use their own material as long as it is not in the original publication format.

We cannot return unsolicited material that is submitted in hard copy or on disk nor do we pay authors for THP submissions. The editorial office will acknowledge the receipt of your manuscript and the editor-in-chief will contact you regarding the results of the review process.
