NAGC Micro-Credentials

A competency-based professional learning opportunity for educators focusing on recognizing, identifying, and serving gifted students.

Gifted students, especially those from diverse backgrounds, need informed teachers, counselors, and parents who understand their traits, have an awareness of the potential challenges they face, and can provide the necessary resources to them so that these students can achieve their personal best. In response to this need, NAGC has developed three micro-credentials in partnership with Digital Promise to help teachers implement evidence-based practices that support gifted students reach their personal best. 

Micro-credentials are a form of certification earned by demonstrating competency in one specific area at a time. Based on research, NAGC’s micro-credentials are created by experts in the field of gifted education and designed to help classroom teachers learn and develop skills to effectively work with gifted students. The micro-credentials are intended to serve as an introduction to specific topics and are not intended to replace, nor are they equivalent to, a certificate, endorsement, or graduate level program.

The NAGC micro-credentials program provides the perfect opportunity for schools and districts to introduce educators to the research-based strategies and practices available to them as they seek to navigate and support the unique learning needs of gifted and talented students.
