NAGC works to support those who enhance the growth and development of gifted and talented children through education, advocacy, community building, and research
Several Networks have award programs to highlight people and or programs that advance the mission of the Network. These awards provide an opportunity for the winners to become part of the Network community and for their work to be noticed by colleagues.
The E. Paul Torrance Creativity Award is presented to people or organizations who have expanded knowledge of or opportunities for creativity, especially among gifted children. Deadline April 15
The Curriculum Studies Network recognizes high-quality curriculum with appropriate challenge for gifted students with the Curriculum Award. Deadline June 1
The Network seeks article outlines, with the article appearing in the Early Childhood newsletter, from those valued practitioners who have daily contact with young gifted children.The winner receives an Early Childhood Convention Grant to cover half of the cost of an NAGC Convention registration. Deadline August 30
The Global Awareness Annemarie Roeper Award recognizes an individual and group that continues the work of Annemarie Roeper. The nomination deadline is August 1.
Professional Development Award provides an opportunity for outstanding professional development on gifted education at any level – Prek-12 and higher education. Deadline August 1
Dissertation Award Competition – for those who have defended his or her dissertation related to gifted students during the current year.
Graduate Student Research Gala – provides graduate students the opportunity to receive valuable feedback on their research in gifted education.
NEW! Special Populations Network Early Career Award will recognize 1-2 individuals who have: (a) contributed to the mission of the Special Populations Network; (b) advanced the recognition of the talents and abilities of specific populations, while recognizing the impact of other factors on the process of talent development, and; (c) created change and had an impact among gifted children from special populations. The Deadline to submit is March 31.
The Network's Dr. Alexinia Baldwin Gifted AND_____ Award recognizes 1-2 individuals who have contributed to the mission of Special Populations, advanced the recognition of the talents and abilities of special populations, and have had an impact among gifted children from special populations. Deadline March 31
Dr. Martin D. Jenkins Scholar Award is named in honor of Dr. Jenkins, father of research on gifted Blacks, and is designed to honor the achievements of highly gifted Black students who excel academically. Deadline March 31
