Kurshanna Dean

Kurshanna J. Dean is supervisor, Division of Accelerated and Enriched Instruction in Montgomery County (MD) Public Schools, facilitating greater access to curriculum and programs for highly able students, ensuring that institutional barriers to participation are removed and that there are opportunities for all students, regardless of background. Ms. Dean has worked for 20 years in gifted as a supervisor, instructional specialist, Title I gifted and talented teacher, and classroom teacher. In 2020, she was named Outstanding Educator in Gifted and Talented Education – Local School System Gifted and Talented Coordinator by the Maryland State Department of Education. She currently serves on the Gifted and Talented Advisory Council for Maryland.
