The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) today announced Laurie Jane Croft, clinical professor at the University of Iowa, will receive the 2019 NAGC Distinguished Service Award at the NAGC 66th Annual Convention in Albuquerque, NM, November 7-10, 2019.

“The awards program shines a light on those who are making a difference in supporting gifted children as they reach to achieve their personal best,” said Sally Krisel, NAGC Board President. “I have had the opportunity to serve on the NAGC Board with Dr. Croft, and her influence in gifted education is vast.”

Dr. Croft’s contributions to NAGC are at the forefront of her service to the field. Early in her career, Dr. Croft was very involved in several NAGC networks.  She has served as a network chair for Professional Development and co-chair of the Global Awareness Network Convention Program. Dr. Croft is currently the network representative on the NAGC Board.

In the state of Iowa, Dr. Croft has served as the University of Iowa’s liaison to the Iowa Talented and Gifted (ITAG) board for more than a decade. She is an expert in curriculum differentiation and dozens of in-service educators and pre-service students from around the world have benefited from Dr. Croft’s expertise.
