The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) has named Scott J. Peters, Ph.D, its new association editor. Dr. Peters is an associate professor of Educational Foundations at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.  He has published many papers on gifted education.

“The association editor plays an important role in advancing NAGC’s Strategic Framework,” said Sally Krisel, NAGC Board President. “We look forward to working with Scott and collaborating to develop new publications that lead the field in understanding the nature and needs of all gifted and talented children.”

Dr. Peters will provide collaborative oversight of publication activities, including Teaching for High Potential and Parenting for High Potential.

"As an education professor, my primary mission is to serve as a resource for K-12 teachers; to help them be the best they can for their students,” said Dr. Peters. “As NAGC’s association editor I hope to continue that mission by providing high-quality, accessible content and resources on how to best meet the needs of advanced learners.”

Dr. Peters’ 3-year term as association editor begins on September 1, 2018.
