Rider University’s Ambrose Named 2018 Distinguished Scholar

The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) today announced Donald Ambrose will receive a 2018 NAGC Distinguished Scholar Award at the NAGC 65th Annual Convention in Minneapolis, MN, November 15-18, 2018.

“The awards program shines a light on those who are making a difference in supporting gifted children as they reach to achieve their personal best,” said M. René Islas, NAGC Executive Director. “His work is novel in the field of gifted education.”

Dr. Ambrose, professor of graduate education at Rider University, has made significant contributions to the field of knowledge regarding the education of gifted and talented individuals. 

“Don is unique among gifted scholars in the history of the field in deeply examining what the world is doing to itself and the role gifted people could play in transforming the world,” said Robert J. Sternberg, Professor of Human Development at Cornell University. “He has my highest recommendation.”
