The National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC) today announced that Donna Campbell, a consultant with the Arizona Association for Gifted and Talented, has received the 2019 NAGC David W. Belin Advocacy Award. Campbell was instrumental in securing $1 million in funding for gifted education in the Arizona budget—the first time in nearly a decade.

The David W. Belin Advocacy Award is given annually to an individual or group that has successfully advocated at the state or federal level to incorporate gifted education, in a significant and meaningful way, into state or federal education policy.

“The awards program shines a light on those who are making a difference in supporting gifted children as they reach to achieve their personal best,” said Sally Krisel, NAGC Board President. “Donna’s advocacy efforts have led to a resurgence in gifted programming throughout Arizona.”

Campbell will be recognized at the NAGC 66th Annual Convention in Albuquerque, NM, November 7-10, 2019.
